Behind Of The Rengasdengklok Incident

Rengasdengklok is one of the historical events that occurred just before the reading of the text of the Proclamation of Indonesian Nation's Independence.  Where this event began from the Abduction carried out by young people consisting of Soekarni, Wikana and Chaerul Saleh.

This incident was happened on August 16th 1945 at 04.30 WIB. This event began with a difference of opinion that occurred between the Young and Old groups.  Because young people who are very impatient want to immediately carry out the proclamation of independence.

This is actually different to the senior group or the elderly group who want to carry out the proclamation of independence with the approval and proposal given by PPKI.

However, young people actually consider that PPKI is an organization formed by the Japanese colonial state with the aim of slowing down the reading of the proclamation of Indonesian independence and expanding Japanese power within the Indonesian state.

The main purpose of this event is inseparable from the name of the role of young members who want to immediately declare a proclamation of Indonesian independence as soon as possible.

Rengasdengklok was chosen, because it was considered as the safest place compared to other places.  This place is also considered to be able to prevent the elderly from various interventions from outside parties.

The end of this event was marked by Ahmad Subardjo, Sudiro, and also Yusuf Kunto who immediately headed to Rengasdengklok.  The group finally arrived at Rengasdengklok at 17:30 WIB.

The meaning that can be taken from this event, especially for the young generation of the nation's successors is the spirit of independence that must and continues to be well guarded and must always have the spirit to achieve dreams.
